“텍사스 어스틴에서 감사 인사를 드립니다~”

   지난주 광고를 통해 말씀드렸던 대로 저는, 3월 10일과 11일 이틀에 걸쳐 텍사스 어스틴에 있는 가정교회인 늘푸른 교회의 브릿지 캠프를 진행하고 돌아왔습니다. 함께 기도해 주셔서 감사히 잘 다녀왔고, 가정 속에서 하나님께서 놀랍게 역사해 주시는 은혜가 있었습니다. 그곳 초등부를 담당하시는 목녀님께서 캠프를 마치고 저희 성도님들께 메세지를 보내주셔서 칼럼을 통해 나눕니다.

   미라클랜드 침례교회 성도님들께 깊은 감사의 인사를 드리고자 짧은 편지를 보내드립니다.

저는 텍사스 어스틴 늘푸른 교회 초등부 디렉터로 있는 김미선 목녀입니다.

이번 3월 10-11일에 있은 브릿지 캠프에 담임목사님이신 백동진 목사님을 보내주셔서 정말 감사를 드립니다. 덕분에  참석한 23가정의 70여 명의 식구들이 참으로 은혜로운 시간을 보내었습니다.

   백동진 목사님이 담임목사님으로 가시면서 다시 강사로 모실 수 없을 줄 알았는데, 웬 은혜인지, 하나님께서 감히 생각지도 못했던 분을 강사님으로 보내주셔서 가정의 회복과 치유와 말씀 안에서 삶의 기준을 정하는 귀한 시간이 되었습니다.  오랫동안 어린이 사역으로 어떻게 청소년 시기를 보내야 하는지 누구보다 성경적인 기준을 잘 아시는 목사님의 말씀은 아이들의 눈높이 수준을 잘 맞추면서도 참석한 부모님들까지 큰 은혜를 받는 시간이었습니다.

   바쁜 일상의 삶을 살아가느라 자녀들에게 ‘사랑한다’는 말도 제대로 못해주고, 아이들이 커가며 가족들 간의  Bonding이 점점 약해져 가는 것을 느끼면서도 뭘 어떻게 해주어야 할지 몰라 속앓이를 하던 때에,  브릿지 캠프가 부모와 자녀의 마음을 Connect 시켜준 정말 귀한 역할을 했습니다.  만 24시간 정도의 짧은 시간이었지만 말씀을 들으며 믿음으로 반응하는 모습들, 부모와 자녀가 사랑하다 고백하고 허그하며 흘리는 눈물들, 눈에 띄는 얼굴의 변화들,  마지막 오픈 마이크 시간엔 어른 아이 할 것 없이 받은 은혜를 나누며 서로 기뻐하며 박수를 쳐주는 축복의 시간이었습니다.

   매번 강의 하실 때마다, 정말 열성을 다해 준비해 주시는 모습, 하나님을 온전히 의지하고, 성령님을 의지하시는 목사님 모습이 함께하는 저희 교사들에게도 큰 감동이었습니다. 틈틈이 주일 설교를 위해 준비하시는 모습도 뵈면서 죄송한 마음도 있었습니다.  이 땅의 참 많은 가정이 아파하고, 자녀들이 진리를 찾지 못하고 방황하는 이 때에, 하나님께서 이 캠프를 통해 앞으로도 수많은 가정을 회복시키시고 고치시겠구나, 하는 마음이 들었습니다. 또한 이 귀한 일에 담임목사님과 미라클 랜드 성도님들의 기도와 섬김을 사용하시겠구나! 하는 마음도 들었습니다. 이번에 저희 교회를 섬겨주셔서 정말 깊이 감사를 드립니다. 하늘 복 많이 받으세요~~~

Greetings of Gratitude from Austin Texas!

As announced last week, I returned from the Bridge Camp of Evergreen Church, a House Church in Austin, Texas from March 10th and 11th.  Thank you for praying for us, it was a good trip, and there was the grace of God working amazingly with the family.  The pastor in charge of the elementary schools there sent a message to our members after the camp, so I am sharing it through this column.

       I am sending you a short letter to express my deep gratitude to the members of MiracleLand Baptist Church.  I am Miseon Kim, the shepherd in charge of the Children’s Ministry in Evergreen Church of Austin, Texas.  We are very appreciative for sending us Pastor Daniel to the Bridge Camp on March 10th-11th.  Thanks to this, about 70 members of 23 families who attended, had a truly grace-filled time.   

       When pastor Daniel left as senior pastor, I thought that we would never be able to have him serve as lecturer again and while I would have never dared to ask, God has sent him to us, allowing us a precious time of restoration and healing of families, and setting the standard for living from the Word of God.

       The words of the pastor, who through a long period of serving the children, knows the biblical standards on how to live out the adolescent years better than anyone, was able to not only relate to the youth but it was also a time of the participating parents receiving abundant grace.

       Living such a busy life, when we are not even able to properly say “I love you” to our children, we feel the bond between family members getting weaker as our children grow up, and while struggling to find what we can do for them, Bridge Camp played a really valuable role in connecting the hearts of parents and their children.

       It was a short time of only 24 hours but the way they responded with faith while listening to the Word, parents shedding tears and children hugging and confessing their love, the noticeable changes in their faces, and at the last open mike session, both adults and children had a time of blessing, sharing the grace received, rejoicing, blessing, and applauding one another.

       Every time he gave the lecture, the way he prepared with all his zeal and dependence on God and dependence on the Holy Spirit left a great impression on our teachers as well.  I felt sorry to see him preparing the Sunday sermon in between lectures.  At a time when so many families on earth are in pain and their children are wandering without finding the Truth, I feel that God will continue to restore and heal countless families through this camp.  Also I feel that God will surely use the saints at MiracleLand and their senior pastor in this endeavor!  Thank you so deeply, for serving our church this time.  May the heavens bless you richly.
